Denis Lynch has finished fifth at the last major showjumping event of 2008.

The Tipperary man secured the result at the Rolex World Cup event in Mechelen last night.

The fifth-place finish on Flaminia Straumann's bay gelding Nabab's Son gains him valuable World Cup points from the show's signature contest, along with a prize of €7,700.
