McGuire close to maximum

Stephen Maguire almost made the perfect start to the evening session of his Maplin UK Championship semi-final against Shaun Murphy as he went close to the second maximum break of the tournament.

Trailing 6-2 following the afternoon’s play, Scotland’s Maguire potted 14 reds with 14 blacks before missing out on the 15th red when he failed with an attempted double into a middle pocket.
