Sutherland dazzles in debut professional bout

Darren Sutherland lived up to his nickname of 'The Dazzler' as he stopped Bulgaria's Georgi Iliev in the first round at Dublin City University tonight.

A series of crunching blows left Iliev stunned and saw the referee step in after just 2 minutes and 44 seconds.

After a successful professional debut, Sutherland said: "I enjoyed it. I was disappointed I didn't get a few more rounds.

"My objective is to improve with every fight and Frank (Maloney) will step up the opposition as I move on."
