Ludlow under threat

Tomorrow’s meeting at Ludlow is subject to a precautionary 8.30am inspection due to the threat of frost.

The course is currently raceable but another night of freezing temperatures has been forecast.

“It got down to minus two last night but we’d be fine to race today,” said clerk of the course Bob Davies.

“We are forecast between minus two and minus four tomorrow so it is sensible to call a precautionary inspection.

“The trouble is the forecasts have not been very accurate. If we got the lower end of what we are told we’ll be fine but if it gets down to minus four we might have a bit of a problem.

“If we have clear skies in the morning that would be a big help.”
