Irish boxers win three bronze medals in Liverpool

Ireland's boxers are returning with three bronze medals from the European Senior Championships in Liverpool.

Eamon O'Kane, John Joe Joyce and Ross Hickey all suffered disappointment last night, losing their semi-final clashes in the various weight divisions.

However, all three pick up bronze medals for reaching the semi-final stage, boosting Ireland's medal haul since the 1939 championships in Dublin to 36.
