Ireland's show jumper Denis Lynch enters his second Olympic qualifying competition today at Sha Tin in Hong Kong.

The 32-year-old Tipperary rider and Flaminia Straumann's gelding 'Lantinus' carry just one time fault into the Sunday one-round qualifier, and are then scheduled to jump in the third qualifying round on Monday afternoon.

Lynch is twelfth of 77 riders to compete today, competing around noon

The final of the Olympic individual jumping competition will be held on Thursday August 21, when the top 35 riders left in the competition will be whittled down to a top 20 who will compete for medal positions in the ultimate round.

Lynch's performances today and tomorrow are therefore crucial to his qualification for the final.
