Only the top eight go through to the next stage.

Elsewhere, sailors Stephen Milne and Peter O'Leary have finished sixth in their first race in the Star event.

Ger Owens and Phil Lawton were 21st in race seven of the 470 class and are now 14th overall, while Tim Goodboy is 21st overall after finishing 15th in race eight of the men's Finn class.
