Cyclist O’Loughlin finishes 11th in individual pursuit

Irish cyclist David O'Loughlin has failed to qualify for the next stage of the men's individual pursuit.

O'Loughlin finishes 11th in the qualification process today in a time of 4:26.10.

Only the top eight go through to the next stage.

Meanwhile, the Irish men's heavyweight rowers have finished fourth in the 'B' final in Beijing

Elsewhere, sailors Stephen Milne and Peter O'Leary have finished sixth in their first race in the Star event.

Ger Owens and Phil Lawton were 21st in race seven of the 470 class and are now 14th overall, while Tim Goodboy is 21st overall after finishing 15th in race eight of the men's Finn class.
