Rowing: Jennings seeking World Championship gold

Irish rowing star Sinead Jennings, a native of Letterkenny in Co Donegal, is today competing in the final of the single sculls at the World Championships final in Linz and Ottensheim in Austria

Jennings (31), a final year pharmacy student at Trinity College Dublin, will not be competing at the Olympics as there is no lightweight single sculls race in Beijing.

She was not sent to the Olympic qualifiers, in the heavyweight sculls section, in Poznan earlier this year following a decision that was made by the Irish head coach Harald Jahrling.
