Murphy sets new Irish 50m freestyle record
Barry Murphy has set a new Irish record in the men's 50m freestyle event.
The Dubliner set a time of 22.59 seconds in the United States last night.
However, he still fell short of the Olympic qualification mark of 22.35 seconds.
Meanwhile, Andrew Brew set a new Irish record of 2:04.43 in the men's 200m individual medley.
He remains the only Irish swimmer to have qualified for Beijing.
