Seven-time champion Stephen Hendry tonight hailed his greatest ever first round victory in 23 visits to the Crucible.

Hendry staged a superb fightback to beat Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen in a thrilling clash at the 888.com World Championship in Sheffield, winning the last three frames to seal a 10-9 win.
