Ahern through to last eight at Athens qualifiers

Ireland's Conor Ahern has booked a place in the quarter-finals of the Olympic qualification tournament in Athens tomorrow.

The Baldoyle flyweight secured a points win over his Swedish opponent in the last-16 last night.

However, Donegal welterweight Willie McLoughlin is out of the competition after suffering a defeat.

The tournament is the final chance for Irish boxers to book a spot at the Olympic Games.
