Ireland slump to defeat against Bangladesh

Ireland had no answer to an unbroken century stand between Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful and opener Shariar Nafees as the hosts won the first one-day international in Mirpur by eight wickets.

Ireland were seeking a second successive ODI victory over Bangladesh after their heroics at last year’s World Cup.
