Ireland progress checked by Mortaza
Three wickets from pace bowler Mashrafe Mortaza allowed Bangladesh to limit Ireland to 185 for seven in the first one-day international in Mirpur.
Ireland, seeking a second successive ODI victory over Bangladesh after their heroics at last year’s World Cup, stumbled to 18 for two.
But a handy contribution from Eoin Morgan (34) and then a seventh-wicket stand of 65 between Alex Cusack (38) and captain Trent Johnston (31no) at least gave Ireland something to bowl at – despite the best efforts of Mortaza (three for 22).
