Two top six placings at New Zealand A1GP for Carroll

Ireland's Adam Carroll picked up two top six places at the New Zealand A1GP at Taupo.

He was fifth in the Sprint race which was won by Jonny Reid of New Zealand.

Germany's Christian Vietoris won the feature race with Carroll collecting sixth spot.

Carroll's good weekend has now moved Ireland up to sixth position behind leaders New Zealand.

Vietoris took his maiden A1GP win by just more than a second from Canadian rookie Robert Wickens with France`s Loic Duval third a further two seconds back.

"It was a really brilliant weekend for us," Vietoris said.

"The car was a little bit off the pace on Friday but we improved it all weekend for qualifying and the Sprint race.

"The team did two good pit stops in the Feature which put me to the front and held me there.

"It was really hard to keep Loic Duval behind me, especially on the long back straight, but we managed to hold position and I am very happy."
