Adams ousted by Webster

World number one Mark Webster ended Martin Adams’ reign as BDO world champion with a thrilling semi-final victory at Frimley Green this afternoon.

The Welshman held off a superb comeback from the England captain to go through to tomorrow’s final 6-4.

Adams had hit back strongly to win four sets in succession after Webster’s fine start had propelled him into a 3-0 lead.

But Webster proved too good in the end and recovered to take the next three sets.

Adams was diplomatic in defeat and told BBC Sport: “It is just one of those things, it’s darts.

“When you get beaten in one of those games you don’t mind, it’s when you get beaten and you’ve played badly it hurts. C’est la vie.”
