Egan seeks eighth consecutive boxing title

Ken Egan will contest the light heavyweight final in the Irish Amateur Boxing Championships tonight.

The Neilstown clubman, who is looking for an eighth consecutive title, received a walkover from William Mitchell in their semi-final at the National Stadium last night.

Egan will meet Kieran Curtis in the final.

Meanwhile, Darren Sutherland and Darren O'Neill will meet in a much-anticipated middleweight final.

Defending champion Sutherland stopped Sean Shevlin in round two of their semi-final last night, while O'Neill was a 15-3 winner over Edward Healy.
