Egan to begin quest for eight straight Irish title

Ken Egan begins his quest for an eighth consecutive Irish senior title at the National Stadium tonight.

The Neilstown fighter takes on William Mitchell from Dromore, with a place in tomorrow's light heavyweight final up for grabs.

Elsewhere tonight, defending middleweight champion Darren Sutherland meets Sean Shevlin in the semi-finals of that category.

17 other bouts will also be decided, with the action getting underway at 6pm.
