Ireland will take on England, Germany and France this weekend in a junior round-robin tournament at the Jackson's Hotel in Ballybofey, Donegal.

The tournament begins tonight and will conclude Sunday.

Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA) president Dominic O’Rourke said: "Support for amateur boxing in Donegal is phenomenal…What better way to endorse the emerging young talent from the county, and indeed Ulster and Antrim, than to be given the opportunity to perform in front of a home crowd?

"The plan of the IABA is to spread amateur boxing nationwide and I know that the clubs and the Co Donegal Boxing Board fully support this International which will be funded by the National Association.

"This will be viewed as a pilot project for future competitions in all units of the IABA."

The opening ceremony will begin at 6pm tonight.
