Amir Khan is likely to fight for the European lightweight title in the coming months, with his ambitions of winning a world title in the next year firmly on track.

On his 21st birthday yesterday, Khan produced comfortably the best performance of his fledgling career to obliterate former WBO interim title challenger Graham Earl with a stunning first-round stoppage inside 72 seconds at the Bolton Arena.
