Andy Lee excited about his first Irish professional bout
Ireland's middleweight boxing sensation Andy Lee will give fight fans an early Christmas bonus when he headlines the Ladbrokes.com Fight Night at the National Stadium, Dublin on December 15.
The pre-Christmas bash is the first fight in a new agreement with Brian Peters Promotions that will see Lee feature on a regular basis on this side of the Atlantic.
The undefeated Limerick southpaw is said to be one of the hottest things to come out of not just Irish, but world boxing in recent years.
Despite being just over a year into his professional career Lee has already been profiled by leading US broadcaster HBO as one of the 5 best prospects in world boxing.
However, the Shannonsider is now well used to the plaudits having already established himself as a familiar face with boxing fans Stateside.
Lee's profile has been hugely helped by his involvement with legendary US fight trainer, Emanuel Steward.
The Detroit native has brought the likes of Tommy "Hitman" Hearns, Oscar De La Hoya, Lennox Lewis, Julio Cesar Chavez, Wladimir Klitschko, Evander Holyfield and Naseem Hamed to world titles.
And he's predicting Lee will not only join that list but go on to become the best of them all.
No wonder the Munster man is excited about the bout.
