World title twist as Loeb crashes out

The battle for the world rally driver’s title took another dramatic twist as Sebastien Loeb crashed out of Rally Japan on the second day in Obihiro.

Championship leader Marcus Gronholm’s retirement on Friday had left the door open for the Citroen driver to at the very least wipe out the four-point deficit to the Finn.
