23-strong Irish team departs for World Transplant Games
Twenty-three Irish athletes jet off to Bangkok later today to participate in the 16th World Transplant Games.
The athletes, who have all received organ transplants, will compete in a number of events over the course of the week-long tournament.
The games are seen as an important way of increasing awareness of organ donation worldwide.
Irish captain Deirdre Faul says hopes are high that the team will bring back some medals following a successful haul in Canada two years ago.
