Ireland guaranteed medal at EU Boxing Championships

The Irish team is guaranteed at least one medal at the European Union Boxing Championships at the National Stadium.

Last night, Karl Frampton saw off Latvian Denis Zabins in the featherweight quarter-finals.

Frampton says he is confident he can progress even further in the competition.

Elsewhere last night, light-welterweight John Joe Joyce and lightweight Eric Donovan, both of St Michael's in Athy, lost their last-eight encounters.
