Massa victorious in Spanish GP

Felipe Massa (Ferrari) wins Spanish Grand Prix ahead of the McLarens of Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.

Hamilton leads the drivers’ standings.

Massa's victory was a comfortable one, taking the chequered flag by 6.7secs from Hamilton to move up to third in the drivers' standings.

But in claiming his third successive second place, it is Hamilton who now commands the outright lead of the championship, leading by two points from Alonso – who completed the podium trio – and by three from Massa.

Kubica claimed fourth and Coulthard a superb fifth, followed by Rosberg and then Kovalainen.

Even more remarkably, Takuma Sato came home eighth to give Super Aguri their first point since entering Formula One at the start of last year.

In the constructors’ championship, McLaren hold a nine-point lead over Ferrari.
