Lyons finishes fifth in Shanghai A1 GP

Team Ireland achieved its best finish in the A1 Grand Prix series this year when Richard Lyons was fifth in the feature race in Shanghai.

He also collected seven championship points to move Ireland onto nine points for the season.

Lyons had finished 12th in the earlier sprint race.

Britain's Robbie Kerr won the sprint race with New Zealand's Johnny Reid second, and Reid beating Kerr in the feature race.

Two third place finishes by Nico Hulkenburg was enough to give Germany the A1 World Cup of Motorsport title.
