Farah pulls out of European 10,000 metres

Mo Farah has abandoned plans to run in the European 10,000 metres challenge in Italy on April 7.

The European 5000m silver medallist and cross country champion suffered a slight thigh strain during Saturday’s IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Kenya and has opted to stay away from the meeting in Ferrara.

Farah’s coach, Alan Storey, said: “Mo should only need a couple of days off but it seems more logical to end his winter campaign now and take a break before preparing for the summer.”
