Ireland through to Cricket World Cup quarter-finals

The Irish cricket team has defied expectations by qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Cricket World Cup, courtesy of Pakistan’s victory against Zimbabwe tonight.

Inzamam-ul-Haq made a tearful exit from one-day international cricket in Kingston, Jamaica, as Pakistan saved their best for last, piling on the runs in tribute to the late Bob Woolmer.
