Raikkonen claims debut pole for Ferrari

Kimi Raikkonen will start at the head the grid in his first race for Ferrari for Sunday’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix after taking pole position in Saturday’s qualifying session.

The Finn had been setting the pace during the free practice sessions in the build up to qualifying and carried that form into Saturday’s shootout, clocking one minute 26.072 seconds to finish 0.421 seconds ahead of McLaren’s Fernando Alonso in second place.
