Paul Hession was the outstanding performer at the Irish Indoor Athletics Championships in the Odyssey.

He sped to a 6.63 seconds win in the 60 metres final - smashing his own Irish record in the process.

Anna Boyle took the women's equivalent.

The mens 1500 metres went to Gareth Turnbull while Mullingar Harriers' Mark Christie was the winner in the 3000 metres.

Kelly Reid from City of Lisburn took the womens 1500 gold with the women's 3000 going to Orla Drumm of UCC.

Deirdre Ryan took the women's high jump with a height of 1 metre 85cm.

Leona Byrne (9.12) and Stanislav Sajdok (7.84) from the Czech Republic claimed the 60m Hurdles titles without undue effort.
