Wetherby look again

Officials at Wetherby will hold another inspection at 8am on Saturday morning before deciding whether racing can take place in the afternoon.

Clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson checked the state of the track at 2pm and revealed prospects remain up in the air.

“We’re going to look again at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning,” he confirmed.

“The track has improved marginally over the past 24 hours and as long as this wind and dry weather stays with us, it will continue to improve.

“There is no vast amount of overnight rain forecast, if any, but we’re going to have a look anyway in case the forecast is inaccurate. The track needs to improve another notch anyway for us to say we are genuinely raceable though.”
