Darts player Andy Fordham is expected to remain in hospital “for a few more days” after being taken ill at the Lakeside World Championship.

The 44-year-old, winner of the title in 2004, had to forfeit his first-round match against Australia’s Simon Whitlock when it became clear he was unfit to play due to breathing difficulties.
