Lots of action in SuperLeague weekend

The Nivea for Men SuperLeague action continues this weekend with the action tipping off tonight as Hoops host UCD Marian at the National Basketball Arena at 8.30pm.

Hoops have no fresh injury worries going into the encounter and will be looking to maintain their stranglehold at the top of the North Conference table.

UCD Marian will be looking to move up the table, as they currently lie second from bottom.

UCC Demons are faced with a daunting double-header this weekend when they take on annual contenders Abrakababra Tigers and Mustang Sally's in Killarney.

After showing improvement in their cup victory over UCD Marian, Demons take on some of the strongest contenders in this year's Southern Conference.

After losing slick stalwart Shane Coughlan to injury (sidelined until late December), Demons young guns Niall Murphy and Carlton Cuffe have stepped into prominent roles and have not disappointed.

Combined with strong post play by Michael Plichta, the Cork side are now priming to show the depth that was key to last year’s successful campaign.

Demons will take on Abrakebabra Tigers on Friday night at the Mardyke Arena, with an 8.15pm tip-off.

The Tigers were very impressive in their cup win over Killarney last weekend, and Demons head coach Pat Price knows his side have a major hurdle to clear.

"Tralee has strength in every area of the court, and Wilder Auguste is a very imposing presence for them," said Price.
