Neptune put in an outstanding performance today to secure a comfortable win over local rivals UCC Demons, gaining revenge for last year’s 20-point defeat.

Neptune roared into a 9-0 lead in the opening minutes. Demons seemed to have no answer for the home team’s new imports, struggling to keep up with Neptune’s intensity. Throughout the quarters, Neptune built up a comprehensive lead of 28 points, 60-32 mid way through the third.

However, in the final quarter Neptune found themselves in foul trouble and feeling tired after an explosive opening three quarters.

Demons brought the gap back to nine points mainly through Niall Murphy who had an outstanding game throughout. Neptune once again re-focused and eventually won by 17 points.
