Schumacher eclipses title rival

Michael Schumacher will join Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa on the front row of the grid for tomorrow’s Japanese Grand Prix after the Brazilian set the fastest time in qualifying at Suzuka.

Massa snatched pole position right at the end of a session dominated by the scarlet duo while Schumacher’s world title rival Fernando Alonso will start back in fifth position alongside his Renault team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella.
