Irish basketballers hoping for Tallaght glory
The Irish senior men’s and women’s squads are counting down the days before they begin a series of stern tests against the cream of European basketball.
Friday week will see the beginning of four days of intensive basketball at the National Basketball Arena, Tallaght, Dublin, with the senior men tipping off the weekend against Norway at 6pm while the senior women take on Luxembourg at 8pm.
The event will see Ireland play host to teams such as Austria, Portugal and Iceland, all of which will be looking to prepare for their own individual qualifying campaigns and will be out to get results on Irish soil.
Saturday will see the action hotting up with Norway’s senior men taking on Austria at 4pm before Ireland’s senior women play their second match of the weekend, this time taking on Portugal at 6pm.
Finally, the Irish senior men will meet Iceland with an 8pm tip-off.
