Dubliner Barry Murphy broke an Irish senior record and qualified for this evening's semi-final in the 50m Freestyle during the day six of the European Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary today.

Dubliner Barry Murphy broke an Irish senior record and qualified for this evening's semi-final in the 50m Freestyle during the day six of the European Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary today.

Murphy came home in a time of 22.77 seconds, which smashed Nick O'Hare's previous best time of 23.36secs that was set at the Phoenix Grand Prix in 1996.
