Williams joins Belfast bill

Commonwealth heavyweight champion Danny Williams has been added to the King’s Hall show in Belfast on Saturday night following the withdrawal of WBO featherweight title holder Scott Harrison.

Williams was due to have boxed at the start of next month in Barnsley but will now be on the supporting bill to Eamonn Magee’s WBU welterweight title defence with Londoner Takaloo.

Williams, 32, will use the non-title contest – an opponent has still to be named – as a warm-up for his rematch with Matt Skelton on July 8 in Cardiff.

Promoter Frank Warren said: “I am delighted that Danny has stepped in to replace Harrison.

“Danny will look to get in a good performance on Saturday night ahead of his rematch with Skelton in Cardiff.”
