Doherty through to Crucible quarter-finals

Ken Doherty is through to the World Snooker Championships quarter finals.

He beat last year's beaten finalist Matthew Stevens 13 frames to 8 at the Crucible in Sheffield this afternoon.

He will now face Hong Kong's Marco Fu.

Scotland's Graham Dott is also through to the quarters, he was too strong for Stephen Hendry's first round conqueror Nigel Bond, defeating him 13-9

Ronnie O'Sullivan resumes his second round tie this evening 9-7 down to Wales' Ryan Day.
