British GP needs new sponsor
The British Grand Prix at Silverstone is on the look-out for a new sponsor for next season.
Beer company Foster’s has been the title sponsor since 2000 but a deal to sell the brewer to Scottish and Newcastle will end its involvement in Formula One at the end of the year.
That leaves the British race without a sponsor, although today’s news will not affect Silverstone or its owner, the British Racing Drivers’ Club, directly.
Sponsorship and signage deals for races generate money only for Allsport Management, now part of the Formula One group of companies, with nothing going to the tracks.
Foster’s managing director Richard Scully said: “This sponsorship has been important for Foster’s, raising consumer awareness of the brand globally.”
