O’Sullivan hoping to get back to competition
Sonia O'Sullivan has said she hopes to be resume competitive running by this summer after being forced to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games.
The Cobh woman was due to compete for Australia at the games after securing dual citizenship, but was forced to pull out with a hamstring injury.
She has also dropped out of this Sunday's Great BUPA Ireland Run, but said today that she was planning to resume training in the coming days.
"I'm just about to start getting into some light training," she said. "Hopefully, if I can get myself back running up to normal levels by the end of April, I should be ready to run some races in the summer."
