O'Rourke set for Ostrava date
Derval O’Rourke, winner of last month’s World Indoors 60 metres hurdles title, is setting her sights on reproducing that form outdoors.
The Irish star has been included in the IAAF’s World Athletics Tour Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava on May 30.
The early-season meeting will give the 24-year-old Cork athlete an ideal opportunity for a 100m hurdles test.
O’Rourke, according to Ostrava organisers, will be bidding to attack her Irish record of 12.96secs she achieved when fourth at the European Under-23 Championships in Bydgoszcz three years ago.
Lashinda Demus, world 400m hurdles silver medallist, will make her Ostrava debut where her target will be to smash Ionela Tirlea’s meeting record of 53.87secs.
