Rebels sign up for 2008

The threat of a Formula One breakaway has receded after five rebel teams submitted their entries for the 2008 season.

The sport’s governing body, the FIA, had set a deadline of March 31 for teams to confirm for 2008.

Four of the five teams threatening a split – who together form the Grand Prix Manufacturers’ Association – signed up last night with the fifth confirming this morning.
