Steiner quits F1
Technical chief Gunther Steiner has left Formula One and Red Bull Racing to pursue a career in NASCAR.
The Italian will leave his post as technical director of Red Bull Racing to assume a similar role in the United States, with the new Red Bull Toyota NASCAR team.
He said: “If as a European you are asked to help set up such an ambitious project you simply cannot say no. I’m really looking forward to working on my new task.”
Steiner’s departure comes in the wake of high-profile additions to Red Bull Racing’s backroom staff, including design guru Adrian Newey.
