Sponsor boost for Suzuki

The Suzuki MotoGP team will boast a title sponsor for the first time since 2002, they revealed today.

Suzuki finished a lowly fifth in the championship last season but have fresh impetus to improve after agreeing a deal with Rizla for the next two years.

Team manager Paul Denning said: “The added pressure of a sponsor to support Suzuki’s racing programme will also bring a welcome impetus to improve performance both on and off the track.”

The team, like their representatives in the British Superbike Championship, will be known as Rizla Suzuki, with John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen riding.
