Liuzzi starts new era

Scuderia Toro Rosso made their Formula One track debut today in testing at Barcelona.

The Red Bull-owned team, formerly known as Minardi, hit the track for the first time, with Vitantonio Liuzzi behind the wheel.

The Italian, who drove for Red Bull Racing last season and is expected to race for Toro Rosso in 2006, was sixth fastest of the 10 drivers on show.

Christian Klien set the pace for Red Bull while Robert Doornbos, making his debut for the team after his confirmation today as their 2006 test driver, was seventh.

Alex Wurz was second quickest for McLaren with Ricardo Zonta third for Toyota. New world touring car champion Andy Priaulx could only complete 18 laps on his return to a Williams cockpit and he was 10th.
