Ireland finish fifth in European Championships

Ireland have beaten the Ukraine 4-1 in their fifth-place play-off at the Women's European Championships.

Tatiana Salenko scored first on 16 minutes for the Ukraine but Ciara O'Brien equalised for Ireland just two minutes later.

Second-half goals from Jill Orbinson, Jenny Burke and Lyndsey McVicker earned Ireland fifth spot overall.

In tonight's final five-time champions Holland face rivals Germany.
