Rossi tests with Ferrari
Moto GP world champion Valentino Rossi has sparked speculation he could swap two wheels for four after spending two days testing with Ferrari at Fiorano.
The 26-year-old Italian, who renewed his contract with Yamaha this week, has always played down suggestions he could follow in the footsteps of John Surtees, the only man to have been both a Formula One and a motorcycle world champion.
However, he enjoyed his time with the manufacturers’ champion, and said: “I wanted to get a better understanding of a Formula One car.
“And I would like to thank Ferrari for giving me the opportunity to do so. The two days were intensive and interesting.
“I completed a lot of kilometres and I began to understand the handling of the car, working with the engineers and (Ferrari tester) Marc Gene.
“I go back to the two wheels where there is still a long way to go to the end of the season.”
