Ireland reach ICC Cricket Cup final

Ireland reached the final of the ICC Cricket Cup as they defeated Canada by four wickets today.

Canada set Ireland a tough target of 238 in their 50 overs.

Coach Adrian Birrell's Ireland side, without star batsman Ed Joyce for this semi-final, reached their target with six wickets to spare, with Peter Gillespie man-of-the-match, after firing a 64 not out.

It capped a great week for Ireland, who have already qualified for the next World Cup.

Joyce, meanwhile, fired his 14th half-century of the season in his innings for Middlesex against Hampshire today.
