Beaten Moscow to bid for 2016 games

The Mayor of Moscow has offered his congratulations to London for their successful bid to stage the 2012 Olympics and then indicated the Russian capital would bid for the 2016 Games.

Yuri Luzhkov, who headed Moscow’s unsuccessful campaign, was generous in his tributes to the victorious bid.
