Rain scuppers BAR testing

Rain has forced BAR to cancel their planned test at Paul Ricard in France today.

The Honda-powered team are currently in the middle of a two-race ban from Formula One but pressed ahead with testing yesterday to help tyre supplier Michelin.

Enrique Bernoldi tested tyres for the forthcoming Monaco Grand Prix even though BAR will have to sit out that race but with rain due today, the team took an unexpected break.

With only 30 days of testing to use all season thanks to their agreement with eight other teams, BAR chose not to waste one on a wet pre-Monaco session.

Jenson Button and Takuma Sato will resume action tomorrow when the Paul Ricard track is configured for preparations for next month’s Canadian Grand Prix.
